Summary

The aim of these courses are to develop consistency in the understanding of what good looks like and therefore consistency in the feedback to/expectations of case managers.

Outline

OBJECTIVES –  At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Use an AssetPlus or Prevention & Diversion QA checklist and support tools to improve the quality of outputs
  • Understand the key points to look for when quality assuring an initial assessment
  • Understand how to employ a flexible QA approach that allows for different levels of QA/audit depending on the time available and skill of the practitioner
  • Understand how QA should differ for Review, Case Closure & Court Report stages by reflecting on different QA tools that are specific to these stages
  • Consider wider working practice options and recommendations associated with ensuring consistent quality in assessment and planning practice

FORMAT – Attendees will carry out the following for each section of the AssetPlus or Prevention & Diversion framework:

  1. Listen to an explanation of the completion and quality QA checks for that section on the QA template provided
  2. Review a case example and note feedback/suggestions on the template
  3. The group discuss and ratify the feedback so that everyone is consistent in their understanding of “what good looks like”
  4. Good vs. poor practice examples will be shared to support the discussion and application beyond the training

Throughout the course the trainer will share different options for how to manage the completion and QA of the frameworks with a view to identifying possible improvements/efficiency savings in relation to local assessment and planning processes/practices
